In 2009 we shot some more Great Time To Sign Toyota spots. The Jets had replaced Chad Pennington with rookie Mark Sanchez. Mark had yet to play his first game and these spots (below) were, in fact, Mark's very first TV commercials. He was a good sport…especially allowing us to shoot "That Was Eli Manning".
"Wife Calling" was originally written for Mark but Mark's people shot it down. Mark was receiving some negative feedback from a "sexy" GQ spread he posed for, so his camp was a little sensitive.
"That Was Eli Manning"
Here's some photos…
|A day or two before the shoot we went to Central Park with Joe Farrell|
to take some photos for "Uniform". These are just a few.
|Here I am on set looking at something. Eli's in the background, to the right.|
(Above) The director Simon McQuoid had started his own production company, Imperial Woodpecker. For their first year in business they set out to take a formal period-piece photograph of every creative team they worked with. We were one of them. Our theme was "Nautical".
(Below) A few weeks after the commercial shoot we went to the Jets training camp for a photo shoot with Mark Sanchez…
