Going To Work (2008)

This is the last video I'll share from our trip to California in '08. Kim shot this one on the Flip video camera because I was at work shooting a Toyota spot. Which just so happens to be the subject matter for this video. Every day Casey would hear me say "I'm going on a shoot", so here he is mimicking my daily routine. He's got his bag and his 'puter, but first...he has to watch Nemo. If only I could use that excuse.

The Silly Sock Dance (2008)

Here's another video from our trip to California. Casey will surely not appreciate me sharing this one when he's older but what's he gonna to do about it now...beat me up? I've got at least 140 pounds on him. Anyway, there are certain things your kids do at certain stages of their lives that are sooooo cute – like The Silly Sock Dance – but they only do them for a short period of time. That's why I try to capture them on video when they happen. You know...for future blackmail purposes.

Santa Monica Beach Sunset (2008)

Over the next three days I'll be sharing a few home videos I made from our time in California (Jan.-Feb. 2008). I was there for a month shooting Toyota spots, so I brought the family along. We stayed at a hotel/apartment on the beach of Santa Monica. Literally, on the beach. Step out the front door...beach.

The Devils Lived Book (1978)

A while back I shared some of my early childhood art (here). This is the first book I ever wrote and illustrated, The Devils Lived Book. I was 7 so the plot is pretty thin (perhaps non-existent) and there's grammatical errors everywhere.

"The devils are killing the man."
(You'll notice throughout this book that I constantly write, erase, and rewrite my sentences for some reason.)

"The two soldiers ares trying to kill the devils."
(I told you there's grammatical errors. On this page you'll notice the devils live human heads...and watch their own version of Tom & Jerry on TV.)

"This is your news reporter the devils are killing the men."

"The devil is trying to Blow the tires."
(I remember my dad drew the car for me. Not sure why I had asked for help.)

"The devils are eating dinner."
"The two devils are sending There robots after the man."
(The devils are very crafty when it comes to killing humans.)

"The Soldiers are is trying to kill the devils."
"The devils are gating killed."
(Flying sharks?)

A rather abrupt ending. I guess the flying sharks saved mankind.

Many years later I used the illustrations from this book on various flyers and cassette tapes for my band ambibat.

Still got some more childhood illustrations to come...

The Swinging Life of Casey Joe Fusco (2005)

Here's the very first Fusco Family Film, made before I even thought about starting Fusco Family Films. We recorded it on September 4th, 2005, when Casey was just 45 days old. It would be another four years before we'd make a second – "Sabotage".

Life After Santa - Vixen's Story

When Vixen wasn't training for Christmas Eve she'd most likely be found in the Clause's kitchen, baking cookies, pies and muffins with her mentor Mrs. Claus. Happy in her job delivering presents, Vixen never thought of baking as a career choice - until Santa bought a Toyota Prius, that is.

Life After Santa - Dasher's Story

Meet Dasher. For close to 200 years he lead Santa’s pack, bringing joy to people through gifts. Now he brings joy to people through the gift of physical fitness, as a personal trainer.

"No one gets in shape overnight. Like a pair of antlers, it takes time to grow to a place of strength and significance. That's why my system is called 'The Antlers of Success'."

"I Have Absolutely No Use For Computers."

Those were my exact words in the 9th grade. But in all fairness, computers back then were nothing like they are now. I remember spending an entire class copying line after line of code and commands from a textbook, without a clue as to what I was typing. I'd fill in the appropriate "blank" sections with my own personal data – Black Sabbath 666 – only to get what's pictured to the left. "And they say computers are our future?" It just didn't seem worth it.

Now I spend a majority of the day in front of one. You win this round computers.
