Air Fare

I started flying late in life when I flew to Las Vegas for my college graduation. Since then I've flown many times. Ever since that first flight I've been taking photos of my meals. Those who've seen my collection have told me I should make it into a book. Who'd buy such a book? I wouldn't.

Pine Creek Railroad (10/14/07)

Been shooting some spots in LA for nearly three weeks and really missing the family, so I've been looking at lots of photos and watching home videos. Here's one from 2007 of us riding the Pine Creek Railroad at Allaire State Park, New Jersey. The loud noise got to Casey for a bit but he soon recovered. At 2:20 Johnny Cash's "Casey Jones" kicks in. We always told Casey the song's called "Casey Joe". Casey's middle name is Joe. I fly back home tomorrow.

Sha Na Na

My kids have been watching the movie GREASE a lot lately. Every time we see the dance scene it reminds me of the time I saw Sha Na Na at Westbury Music Fair – back around 1981/82. My sister and I were also really into GREASE as kids, and I'd watch Sha Na Na's TV show with my Dad, so my parents bought us (and my cousin Debbie) tickets.

After the show some of the members of Sha Na Na came out to greet the fans and sign some autographs. Bowzer, Jocko and Donny signed my play book. We even got our picture taken with Bowzer! The crowd was so thick we didn't know where my Dad was with his camera so we just looked straight ahead. My Dad reached over the crowd and blindly snapped the photo. That's why the shot is from the side and you only see the top of my sister's head.

I'm a huge fan of Sesame Street and one of my favorite skits was when a Muppet (Kermit, Grover, etc.) would talk one on one with a kid. Ever since I got my own Muppet Whatnot from FAO Schwarz in 2009, I wanted to do my own twisted version with my kids. I finally got around to doing it this past summer.

Here's some outtakes...

"Ted on Dolphins" (TALKIN' WITH TED outtake)

"Ted on Curious George" (TALKIN' WITH TED outtake)

"Ted on Recreation" (TALKIN' WITH TED outtake)

"Ted on Bluetooth Headsets" (TALKIN' WITH TED outtake)

And here's some TALKIN' WITH TED art cards...
